Ingredients: 4 ea. (400 g) medium onions, chopped as fine as possible; 1 small chilli; 2 large cloves of garlic, chopped finely or crushed; Ginger (about the same as the garlic in size), finely chopped; 250 g split red lentils; 3 tins, chopped tomatoes; 1 stock cube; Water as necessary; 12 whole cardamom pods; 1 teaspoon garam masala; 1 teaspoon paprika; 12 grinds of the black pepper; ¼ teaspoon mustard seed; Fresh chilli to taste

Ingredients

3 tins, chopped tomatoes
1 stock cube
Water as necessary
12 whole cardamom pods

¼ teaspoon mustard seed
Fresh chilli to taste

Instructions

Cook the ingredients in the order listed, giving the onions some time before adding everything else.
Put the lid on and cook until the lentils are cooked to your preference.
