Sydney Smith's Salad Dressing
Sydney Smith's salad dressing is a type of salad dressing. The recipe originated from Sydney Smith who founded the Edinburgh Review, and it was popular in the 19th century among American cooks.
Ingredients
- 2 boiled potatoes
- 1 spoonful mustard
- 2 spoonfuls salt
- 4 spoonfuls olive oil
- 2 spoonfuls vinegar
- 2 hard-boiled egg yolks, mashed
- Small amount of minced onions
- 1 spoonful anchovy sauce
Instructions
- Pass the potatoes through a sieve or a ricer.
- Combine potatoes and remaining ingredients. Mix well.
