Ingredients
- 1 ⅛ pounds (500 g / 2 ⅛ cups) white granulated sugar
- 1 pint (568 ml) whole milk
- 1 pint (568 ml) grain alcohol
- Grated zest of an organically-grown lemon
- ½ vanilla bean, split lengthwise
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients in a wide-mouthed jar, and screw the lid on tightly.
- Shake well, and place the jar in a cool, dark place.
- Shake once a day for 8 days.
- Filter the liquid and bottle it.
- Stopper the bottle, put it in a cool dark place, and let it rest for a month before serving.
